Description
Sa Costera is one of the most spectacular routes in the Serra de Tramuntana, a trail that combines rural heritage, mountain landscapes, and spectacular views of the Mediterranean. The route begins among terraced, centuries-old olive groves and crosses the historic estates of Bàlitx d’Amunt, Bàlitx d’Enmig, and Bàlitx d’Avall. After reaching the Coll de Biniamar, the highest point of the route, the path gently descends to the coast, becoming a magnificent natural balcony that winds along the cliffs. Along the way, it’s possible to detour to the old Sa Costera hydroelectric power plant, which supplied electricity to Sóller until 1962. The route ends at Cala Tuent, from where you can return by public transportation or continue walking to Sa Calobra.
