Description

The ascent of Puig de Massanella (1,364 m), the second-highest peak in Mallorca, is one of the most emblematic mountain routes in the Serra de Tramuntana. The route begins at the Comafreda estate, which you must access, and follows old snow carriers’ paths to Pla de sa Neu, where several snow houses are preserved as witnesses to an important ethnological heritage. From here, the route continues to the summit, with two ascent options: the traditional route or the path that passes by the Font de s’Avenc. This is a high-difficulty, unmarked route recommended only for experienced hikers in good physical condition.
