An experience to discover the municipality's ancient footprints, such as Almallutx and the Cometa des Morts.

Hikers Easy 1-2 hours Cultural

Description

Escorca preserves archaeological evidence that helps us better understand the ancient human presence in the Serra de Tramuntana. Among these remains are sites such as the Almallutx archaeological site and the Cova de la Cometa dels Morts, a burial cave associated with the rituals and ways of life of the first communities to inhabit this mountainous territory.

These heritage assets offer deeper insight into the history of Escorca and help connect the present-day landscape with the people who inhabited it centuries ago. The municipality’s archaeology invites us to discover a Serra that has been inhabited, lived in and transformed over time, where nature, memory and heritage form part of the same story.
