Accessible routes in Escorca for people with reduced mobility

ADVENTURE AND ACCESSIBLE SPORTS

Enjoy the Sierra with tranquility and comfort

In Escorca, there is a place for everyone. That’s why we have selected routes and itineraries designed for people with reduced mobility, the elderly or families with strollers.

These routes feature flat paths, short sections and access to shaded areas, viewpoints and rest areas. They are ideal for connecting with nature and the landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana in a simple, comfortable and safe way.

The mountain can also be accessible. Come and discover it at your own pace.

From the recreational area, the path descends through pine and holm oak woods with undergrowth of mastic, myrtle, lemon-scented rockrose and albons. It passes former olive and reed fields, and crosses areas with distinctive karst formations. On reaching es Pixarells, you can see a cistern with a channel and small water springs that appear after heavy rains, which give the place its name. From here, a winding climb leads to a viewpoint with panoramic views of Puig Caragoler de Femenia, Puig Roig, Puig Tomir and Moleta de Binifaldó. The route continues to Cometa des Morts, where, following a small trail through the holm oak forest, you reach Cova I, which has archaeological value. The return is along the main path, gently ascending to the road and back to the starting point.
A very easy itinerary, suitable for families. It connects with the section of the Ruta de Pedra en Sec that descends towards the valley of Sóller. The Pla de Cúber is surrounded by the highest mountains of the Serra, at the foot of Puig Major de Son Torrella. In the past, it was occupied by a manor house with farmland and pastures; today, the waters of the reservoir that supplies the city of Palma occupy almost the entire area. Thanks to this body of fresh water available all year round, the Pla has become an ideal spot for birdwatching.
